Dr. Dudzinski was selected as the lone female participant in a joint oceanographic expedition of the Bering Sea on behalf of the U.S. and the former Soviet Union in 1977.

Dr. Dudzinski's interest in science first emerged during high school, and later at Villa Maria College of Gannon University, where she studied biology under the tutelage of the late Sister Raymond Marie Bohr and earned admittance into numerous advanced placement classes. When she attended Gannon University, Sister Bohr placed her students in courses that were mostly populated by upper classman. Sister Bohr also encouraged Dr. Dudzinski to choose biology as her major and to further her expertise by participating in undergraduate research programs and teaching.
After obtaining a Bachelor of Science from the aforementioned university in 1968, Dr. Dudzinski earned a Master of Science at Fordham University, where she additionally worked as a laboratory assistant and pursued a teaching fellowship. She was subsequently recruited as an instructor at Ladycliff College, which has since closed, before serving in the same capacity at Pace University between 1972 and 1973. Throughout the following five years, Dr. Dudzinski worked as an instructor and assistant professor of biology at Manhattan College while completing a Doctor of Philosophy at Fordham University.
In 1978, Dr. Dudzinski was appointed as an associate professor at the College of Santa Fe, which has since closed. Just four years later, she was promoted to the position of biology professor and she thrived in this capacity until 1986. During this period, she simultaneously found further success as the chairperson of the College of Santa Fe's department of science and mathematics. Dr. Dudzinski subsequently excelled as a professor of biology at Mercyhurst University until 1991, at which point she was recruited by Washington State Community College. Throughout the following 22 years, she taught biology at Washington State before issuing her retirement in 2012.
Alongside her responsibilities as an educator, Dr. Dudzinski was notably selected as the lone female participant in a joint oceanographic expedition of the Bering Sea on behalf of the U.S. and the former Soviet Union in 1977. During the summers of 1982, 1983 and 1984, she also pursued a fellowship behalf of the American Society of Science and Engineering Educators at NASA's Ames Research Center in which she examined controlled ecological life support systems for evidence of microbial contamination. Moreover, Dr. Dudzinski served as the moderator of Manhattan College's chapter of the American Institute of Biological Science from 1975 until 1978 and as a board member for the New Mexico Network for Women in Science and Engineering from 1985 until 1987.
In 2019, Gannon University honored Dr. Dudzinski's exemplary career with a 50 Year Award. She had previously received a Distinguished Alumni Award on behalf of the university in 1986. In addition to her passion for protecting the environment, Dr. Dudzinski attributes a great deal of her success to her perseverance, which enabled her to devote significant effort towards building her students' understanding of complex biological concepts.
Dr. Dudzinski is also extremely grateful for the mentorship of Sister Bohr as well as Dr. John McLaughlin, who is the former chairperson of Fordham University's biology department. Since her patience and resilience have played a pivotal role in her career, she advises aspiring biology professors to remember that many students struggle with science and may require alternative methods of instruction. In the coming years, Dr. Dudzinski intends to spend more time with her family while continuing to enjoy her favorite hobbies, such as gardening, swimming and antiquing.
