Gwendolyn S. Miles Lauded for Excellence in Business

Gwendolyn Miles lends years of expertise to her work with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention



Ms. Miles is most proud of assisting numerous small businesses over the course of the last three and a half decades and receiving billions in contract awards from the government.

    MCDONOUGH, GA, March 15, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gwendolyn Miles has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Drawing on years of professional expertise, Ms. Miles presently serves as a small business specialist in the Department of Health and Human Services for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Since joining the CDC in 2011, she has maintained responsibility for advising the contracting and program officials on procurement strategies and facilitated small business participation as suppliers and subcontractors through outreach activities. During the early years of her career, she served with the Department of Defense as a contract specialist and small business specialist. Likewise, Ms. Miles taught elementary school for more than 10 years while traveling with her husband as he served in the Army.

Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Ms. Miles aligns herself with the Atlanta chapter of the National Contract Management Association, through which she chairs the small business committee. An expert in her field, she holds an undergraduate degree, from Knoxville College as well as a Master of Education from AIU. Due to her outstanding body of work, Ms. Miles was named the Distinguished Supply Diversity Professional of the Year by Georgia Minority Business Enterprise Center, was selected as small business advocate of the year, by the MBDA Business Center, Georgia Tech Enterprise Innovative Institute, was inducted into Who's Who in Black Atlanta, and was honored in the Black History Edition of Trailblazer Magazine, along with other honors.

While her career has been filled with highlights, Ms. Miles is most proud of assisting numerous small businesses over the course of the last three and a half decades and receiving billions in contract awards from the government. Though hard work and dedication have brought her far, she credits her success to her love of what she does, as well as her inspirational leaders. Within the next five to ten years, Ms. Miles aims to continue her work with the government and assist as many small businesses as she can achieve their dreams.
