With the distinction of thus far working in global markets across three major continents, namely Asia, Europe and the Americas, Mr. Shetty would like to contribute to the industry by developing global talents who would like to contribute to this automotive industry. Leveraging a diverse array of experiences in new business development, business turn-around, project execution, new product development and purchasing areas, as well as handling strategic areas such as long term planning, team building and customer relationship management, Mr. Shetty previously built a prolific career throughout the world in a variety of roles. He served as a Global Brand Manager at MANN+HUMMEL in Germany handling the company's Ford account and its joint ventures, during which time he oversaw business endeavors in Europe, the Americas, China, Thailand and India. Earlier roles to his credit at MANN+HUMMEL include his work as an Asia Pacific Brand Manager, a position in which he functioned as the first point of contact for senior-level management with customers and also built the business growth in the region, and previously was the Head of the OEM sales team in India, through which he was responsible for building the business in the Indian market and contributing to the turnaround of the company.
Prior to his work at MANN+HUMMEL, Mr. Shetty served as a Senior Engineer at Bosch India, where he worked in advanced development of gasoline system projects. He found early success as a Senior Executive of Business Development at Sundaram Auto Components Ltd., a part of the multinational TVS Group. Among his responsibilities in this position, he handled business development, new customer acquisition and business proposals from a number of global companies, including General Motors, Motorola, Chrysler and Tata Motors, to name only a few.
Mr. Shetty's performance in the field was born of his academic journey, during which time he studied at the Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering in Mysore, India, from which he earned a Bachelor of Engineering in 2005. Specializing in polymer science and technology, he notably graduated with distinction, having participated in an industrial work project at the National Aeronautics Laboratory during the course of his studies. To remain aware of developments emerging in the field, Mr. Shetty maintains his membership with the Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association, as well as the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association in the United States.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Mr. Shetty has drawn acclaim for his philanthropic activities, including his support of the Ideal Foundation, a school for blind children, since 2017. Likewise, he has donated his time and resources to Snehadeep, a care center for young children living with HIV, and is an active member of the American Red Cross.
Among his most cherished accomplishments, Mr. Shetty is particularly gratified to have traveled throughout the world and brought various multicultural teams of professionals together for a singular cause. In accounting for his success in this regard, he largely credits the joy of addressing new challenges and also more importantly learning something new every day making him better as a professional and person, as well as his passion for cultivating the talents of others.
