BRENTWOOD, TN, March 16, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- David E. Armstrong has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A native of Arkansas, Mr. Armstrong's professional journey began in the United States Marine Corps, in which he served to the rank of sergeant and was presented with both the Medal of Honor and a Vietnam Service Medal between 1965 and 1969. Upon the conclusion of his military service, he decided to focus on his academic aspirations while utilizing both the G.I. Bill and a college football scholarship to handle any potential financial burden. Mr. Armstrong subsequently enrolled at Memphis State University, during which time he would dedicate his summer breaks to working for a local railroad contractor by physically building railroad track with a spike hammer, pound and spikes.

In 1973, Mr. Armstrong was recruited by the Aetna Insurance Company to work as a bonding underwriter, having been encouraged to utilize his skills for analyzing the financial statements of contractors. He eventually graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing and finance in 1975 before relocating to Nashville, Tennessee, where he was hired by Willis Corroon South soon thereafter. Renowned among his peers for his attention to detail as well as the respect and dedication he has exhibited toward his clients, Mr. Armstrong advanced into the position of vice president with the aforementioned company before a co-worker, Don Denbo, acquired the company through his business, Commercial Insurance Associates LLC, in 2005.

With Commercial Insurance Associates, Mr. Armstrong works with 90 different railroad contractors with fulfilling insurance requirements prior to project bidding, a service in which he excels in an honest, considerate and timely fashion. In 2011, he partnered with his sons David and Hunter to establish AXIS Track Report, a bid information service that advertises around 4,000 railroad projects across the country per year. Mr. Armstrong currently aims to retire from Commercial Insurance Associates LLC in May 2023, after which he will continue to focus his attention to his wonderful grandchildren and his ongoing efforts with AXIS Track Report.

Throughout his career, Mr. Armstrong obtained both a Bachelor of Business Administration in management from Delta State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Tennessee. He attributes his success to his strong desire to succeed, his passion and hard work, and the support of his loving family. Mr. Armstrong has also devoted much time to his community as well, operating as a youth league baseball and basketball coach while contributing to a ministry for the homeless for 15 years.

Beyond his primary professional endeavors, Mr. Armstrong is proud of his nomination to the board of directors for the National Railroad Construction Management Association, a position that he held for 10 years. He was likewise appointed by the National Railroad Construction Management Association as the chairman of their safety committee, in which time he wrote multiple publications about managing employee safety and addressed safety issues facing the construction industry through 52 weekly safety talks, all of which remain available to members of the association. However, Mr. Armstrong eventually bowed out of his position on their board of directors as he believed a railroad contractor employee or owner would be more suited for the role, though he is still affiliated with the National Railroad Construction Management Association as a member.
