Drawing on 15 years of dedication to the organization, Mr. Peat has earned distinction for his leadership and vision as the board chair of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Anaheim-Cypress. In this role, he utilizes his expertise in strategic planning to oversee the clubs' leadership, measuring the chief executive officer against its strategic plan, and actively recruiting and developing new board members. During Mr. Peat's tenure with the organization, he is especially proud of his role in merging the Cypress and Anaheim clubs, a challenging process that has resulted in successes that would have not been otherwise possible.
Serving the needs of youth is an extremely important pursuit for Mr. Peat. Aside from his engagement with the Boys & Girls Clubs, he and his wife support special needs children through their church; Mr. Peat has also been involved with Champion Baseball, a baseball program for special needs children, for the past 23 years. Helping special needs children thrive is deeply meaningful to the Peats, who, themselves, have a special needs child whom they love very much.
Outside of his volunteer work, Mr. Peat held a successful 30-year career with Raytheon, working in financial management and strategic planning in the aerospace industry. He retired in 2016. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from California State University, Fullerton, and a master's degree in finance from California State University, Long Beach. In the coming years, Mr. Peat looks forward to continuing to advance the work of the Boys & Girls Clubs. He also hopes to continue supporting his wife, who was recently elected to the Cypress City Council, and helping his son thrive.
