Yemeng Chen, PhD, L.Ac., has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

Honoring his contributions, Dr. Chen was the recipient of a Pearls of Wisdom Award from the Acupuncture Society of New York.

    MINEOLA, NY, March 21, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Yemeng Chen, PhD, has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. Dr. Chen is a respected traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, licensed acupuncturist, educator, and administrator serving as the president of the New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Mineola since 2006. In addition to overseeing school administration operations, he teaches several courses on campus. As part of his professional commitments, Dr. Chen remains dedicated to improving educational quality, standards, and professional development in the U.S., particularly in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine. Among other goals, he aims to develop and promote a doctoral program.

The New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, notably authorized by New York State, offers various degree programs to practitioners seeking to expand their knowledge base, including the Acupuncture Degree Program, the Acupuncture with Chinese Herbal Medicine Degree Program, and the Certificate in Chinese Herbal Medicine Program.

Having joined the institution in 1996, Dr. Chen initially spent 10 years as the academic dean. He was previously affiliated with Huashan Hospital, Shanghai Medical University (now Fudan University), as an instructor, acupuncture physician in the integrative medicine department, and director of the department of acupuncture. During these formative years, Dr. Chen completed extensive research on acupuncture applied to different neurological diseases through integrated traditional and western medicine. He also became renowned for using his knowledge to incorporate traditional Chinese medicine theory and integrative medicine into his practice.

Besides his commitments as an administrator, Dr. Chen has served as a guest professor at the Beijing and Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Institutes of Integrative Medicine at Fudan University. He has also been a visiting professor at the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine, Five Branches University, and the International College of Acupuncture and Electro-Therapeutics.

As a respected scholar and researcher, Dr. Chen is regarded as the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Complementary Medicine and Alternative Healthcare and has also been recognized as a peer reviewer for the ICD-11 TM Code and International Standard Terminology of Traditional Chinese Medicine of the World Health Organization. Among other accomplishments, Dr. Chen has authored 18 medical books and contributed more than 60 scholarly articles to national and international journals.

Dr. Chen was active civically as the commissioner and chairperson of the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, as the vice chair and board member of the New York State Board of Acupuncture, New York State Education Department. He has also volunteered his time with the initiative of wildlife protection in Chinese medicine.

Dr. Chen completed his undergraduate study in his native China at the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1985. He also earned a Doctor of Philosophy in traditional Chinese medicine at the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine in 2012. Dr. Chen received credentials as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and as a licensed acupuncturist.

To remain aware of developments in his field, Dr. Chen is the President of the National Federation of Chinese TCM Organizations (NFCTCMO). He is also a council member and executive member of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies.

Honoring his contributions, Dr. Chen was the recipient of a Pearls of Wisdom Award from the Acupuncture Society of New York in 2015, a Sailing Award for International Exchange for Traditional Chinese Medicine from the World Federation of Traditional Chinese Medicine Services in 2020, and the Premiere Herald Excellence in Healthcare Award from The Long Island Herald in 2022.
