As head of the company, he oversees the budget, compiles financial reports, identifies areas for improvement, and supervises multiple functions, including sales, credit, strategy, investor relations, collections, and profits and losses. Through Shark AI, Mr. Wong is also developing a SAAS (Software as a service) platform for banks and credit unions to assist in better onboarding, compliance, benchmarking model, and funding timeline using AI and machine learning while making the human approach more efficient. He and his group developed long-term strategies for future projects and decreased the time on roadblocks they would have experienced during the commercial loan process.
Prior to co-founding Shark AI, Mr. Wong gained valuable expertise in executive positions with American Credit, Inc., ApplePie Capital, Bank of the West (BNP), and Preferred Bank. During the early stages of his career, he gained valuable expertise in finance with a range of institutions, including Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Bank of Communications Limited, and HSBC. Besides his banking experience, Mr. Wong also holds a position as an Independent Director (Board Member) and Audit Committee Head for Yunhong CTI Ltd (NASDAQ: CTIB) where he ensures the fiduciary soundness of the organization. Outside of his work, Mr. Wong contributes to his community through being an active board member and Treasurer for Asian Pacific American Community Center (APACC). He is also a prior member of the Asian Real Estate Association, the Chinese Real Estate Association, and the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce. He also continues to be active in sharing his expertise through various speaking engagements throughout San Francisco Bay Area.
An expert in his field, Mr. Wong holds a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies from San Francisco State University. Over the years, he expanded upon his professional knowledge, earning an Agile Scrum Master Certification, a Software Product Management Certificate, a Healthcare Analytics for Decision-Makers Certification, and numerous others. Due to his vast breadth of experience, he has also taught First-time Home Buyer Workshops through the San Francisco Housing Development Corporation.
