Marquis Who's Who Honors Jeffrey C. Williams for Excellence in the Nonprofit Sector

    AMESBURY, MA, March 29, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jeffrey C. Williams has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Williams is a nonprofit executive and the founder and president of the TEK Collaborative, a charitable organization he launched in 2020 in his hometown of Amesbury, Massachusetts. On a mission to close the digital divide through kindness, TEK, which notably stands for Technology, Education, and Kindness, became officially recognized as a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization in 2022.

At the onsite of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Mr. Williams chose to leave his long and successful career in the corporate sector to pursue his dream of pursuing TEK. A project that initially started to help area students, parents, and teachers adjust to remote learning, he formed a GoFundMe campaign, raising over $12,000 and distributing more than 800 laptop devices to those in need throughout the community. Earning recognition from the Essex County Community Foundation, Mr. Williams' efforts became a venture pilot to operationalize and scale the initiative.

TEK has since distributed over 1,500 devices across more than 20 different communities, including one in the Dominican Republic for a small elementary school with no technology. Mr. Williams aims to distribute an additional 4,000 devices in 2023. He also aims to focus on forming strategic partnerships with schools, organizations, and government entities to establish an ecosystem with more substantial access to devices, the internet, and education while remaining firm on the organization's mission.

Mr. Williams spent more than two decades in the information technology (IT) sector. He began his career in 2000 as a systems administrator and general manager for Ohio School Pictures. He subsequently served as a systems administrator for Hockmeyer Studios and Fast Foto Lab. Among other noteworthy roles, Mr. Williams was an IT process improvement developer for Parker Hannifin and an assistant vice president and senior support engineer for iptiQ by Swiss Re. Before transitioning into IT, Mr. Williams was an elementary school teacher, IT support personnel, and trainer for the Bay Village Schools between 1995 and 2000.

Mr. Williams received a Bachelor of Education in elementary and early childhood studies with a minor in technology from the University of Toledo in 1997.
