Cloud Ridge has also become known for offering various voyages and seminars. Since the organization's establishment, Ms. Benedict has traveled with more than 6,000 people from the arctic to the Antarctic.

In 2009, Ms. Benedict expanded her nonprofit by incorporating Cloud Ridge Publishing, a division of the organization that focuses on publishing nonfiction natural history books. Donations are proudly accepted to support its conservation book projects. Notably, Ms. Benedict has also published five books as the author/co-author to provide educational outreach to readers, many of whom are science students and educators. Among these books include "The Naturalist's Guide to the Southern Rockies" in 2008, "The Salish Sea: Jewel of the Pacific Northwest" in 2015, "Explore the Salish Sea: A Natural Guide for Kids" in 2018 and "Pacific Flyway: Waterbird Migration from the Arctic to Tierra del Fuego" in 2020. Among her future projects, Ms. Benedict is creating audio-visual and paper books, an online natural history journal, and audio-visual versions of Cloud Ridge Publishing's three award-winning books. Notably, Ms. Benedict has also published five books as the author/co-author to provide educational outreach to readers, many of whom are science students and educators. Among these books include "The Naturalist's Guide to the Southern Rockies" in 2008, "The Salish Sea: Jewel of the Pacific Northwest" in 2015, and "Explore the Salish Sea: A Natural Guide for Kids" In 2018. Additionally, Ms. Benedict established an e-postcard series on Cloud Ridge's website in 2020 to continue educating others and introducing them to the many places she has seen and learned about throughout her illustrious career.

Describing herself as a multi-disciplinary naturalist, Ms. Benedict excels in animal ecology and behavior and believes in constantly educating herself in all aspects of the natural world. Apart from her obligations at her non-profit, she serves as a consultant biologist in the field. Ms. Benedict is also an experienced advocate for the research and conservation efforts that highlight the effects of climate change in the Arctic regions and the oceans.

A dedicated civil advocate, Ms. Benedict has served on the board of directors and as the chief scientist for the SeaDoc Society. This nonprofit organization focuses on the health of wildlife and marine life.

To prepare for her career, Ms. Benedict studied at the University of Colorado, through which she received a Bachelor of Arts in geology and biology in 1983. Honoring her accomplishments, Ms. Benedict received the one Conservancy Award from the Nature Conservancy in 2003.
