In late 2021 she founded Prescott Bark, where she is responsible for the business strategy, management, day to day operations, and finances. Ms. O'Connor began her career working as a software engineer and project manager in the financial services industry for over a decade. She subsequently garnered expertise across a range of industries in information technology and business management consulting roles.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. O'Connor obtained a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from the University of Galway in 2004. She then completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Science in Computing in Web Application Development, a joint program offered by Fidelity Investments and the University of Galway, in 2005. As a commitment to her field, she maintains her certification as a Project Management Professional via the Project Management Institute. She is also a Certified Canine Pet Care Provider and a Certified Canine Pet Care Specialist. Additionally, she is active with several industry-related organizations, including the International Boarding & Pet Services Association and the Prescott Chamber of Commerce. Likewise dedicated to civic advocacy, Ms. O'Connor has contributed to the Houston SPCA and was a Young Leader with The American Ireland Fund.
Among her recent professional accomplishments, Ms. O'Connor is most proud of winning the Arizona statewide Moonshot Pioneer Pitch Competition in 2022 on behalf of Prescott Bark and being a finalist in the 2022 Empower by GoDaddy Main Street Accelerator in partnership with the Better Business Bureau. Both of these wins supported Prescott Bark in providing not just employment but long-term pet care careers for members of the local community. Reflecting on her career, she attributes much of her success to her intellectual curiosity and drive to learn, which has powered all of her endeavors.
