    MISHAWAKA, IN, April 27, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Colonel Robert John Kuehn Jr. has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Most honorably, Col. Kuehn served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 30 years, earning the rank of colonel before retiring in 1997. During his military years, he specialized in logistics, education, headquarters staff, and organizational command. His first assignment was in Vietnam as an aircraft maintenance officer and subsequently at the 5th Air Force Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. He also served in missile operations at Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota, followed by five years on the Air University faculty in Montgomery, Alabama. Among other noteworthy assignments, he served on the Headquarters U.S. Air Force and Secretary of Defense staffs at the Pentagon in Washington D.C.., as the Bitburg Air Base, Germany, Base Commander, and as the Combat Support Wing Commander at Kadena Air Base, Japan. Upon his return to the U.S., Col. Kuehn was again assigned to the Pentagon as the Policy Chief for the Deputy Undersecretary of the Air Force for International Affairs before retiring.

As a military veteran, Col. Kuehn held various leading roles as a program manager, vice president and director of business development for various defense and aerospace firms in Huntsville, Alabama from 1998 to 2005. In this capacity he supported the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center and the Department of the Army until 2005. In 2005, he became a business development director for the international aerospace and defense firm, BAE Systems. While still stationed in Huntsville, Alabama, he was assigned national level responsibilities for the company. During his tenure, he created a $34 billion pipeline and contributed to $4 billion in contract wins, retiring a second time in 2010.

Col. Kuehn then went on to found Silver Eagle Consulting, a business development consultancy he established in Huntsville, Alabama, in 2010. Employing his wealth of expertise to assist clients, he is notably fluent in business development, resource management, program management, organizational leadership, strategic planning, and more.

As a leader in his communities, Col. Kuehn has volunteered in many capacities. He is a graduate of the Huntsville, AL Leadership Program, was selected for the Huntsville 100 community support group, was a mentor for the Woman's Business Center and served on the Board of Directors of the Huntsville Botanical Gardens. After he moved to Mishawaka, Indiana, he volunteered in the business community to help jump start proactive engagement in federal contracting. He has also has served as a secretary for the Sacred Heart Parish Social Justice Ministry, and supports their work for the homeless, immigrants and refugees.

Col. Kuehn earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and government from the University of Washington in 1967 and a Master of Business Administration in Business from the University of North Dakota in 1975. He has continued his professional education throughout his military and civilian careers. Continuing to serve, Col. Kuehn has been a vice president of the Air Force Association, Huntsville Alabama chapter, and a president of the Military Officers Association of America, Michiana Chapter.

In recognition of his service to his country, The Department of Defense and the U.S. Air Force awarded Col. Kuehn the Department of Defense Superior Service Medal, National Defense Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Air Force Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Commendation Medal, Organizational Excellence Award, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and other international service awards. The Air Force Association honored Col. Kuehn with its Medal of Merit. He credits his success to his faith and his education.

The Kuehns divide their time between Mishawaka and their winter home in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
