Growing up in a family of three generations of medical professionals, Barbara A. Benson was ultimately inspired by her mother, who was a nurse. After witnessing her mother dedicate her time to care for others, Ms. Benson experienced a spark of interest and desired to follow the same path. In 1968, she received an associate degree from Brandywine Junior College (now known as Weidner College), and she later went on to serve several medical centers and private offices.
