Leveraging more than 20 years of excellence in the field of education, with much of that time dedicated to enhancing literacy among students, Ms. Imhoff has earned distinction as a reading teacher with Norwayne Local Schools. Well-qualified in her field, she holds a K-12 reading endorsement, but has focused much of her attention on reading interventions for students in kindergarten up to the fourth grade, which has encompassed replacement reading efforts for first and second graders, as well as online teaching sessions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to her primary responsibilities Ms. Imhoff manages a reading program that notably pairs fifth grade students with kindergartener counterparts to review basic literacy skills. Other initiatives to her credit include the creation of whole-school family literacy nights, kindergarten family nights based upon phonemic awareness, first and second grade "book bite" nights for building comprehension and literacy skills, and a second grade reader's theater afterschool program, which culminates in productions for the whole family to enjoy. Prolific in her advocacy for children's literacy, Ms. Imhoff has presented on the subject of phonemic awareness at her elementary school, was featured as a paid presenter for a make-and-take phonic session, and co-presented for her district regarding the creation of trauma sensitive classrooms. She is a published author, having released two educational children's books, "Hudson and Nash" and "Hudson and Nash *2*" in 2020.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Imhoff began her career as a preschool teacher for All The Children of the World Academy in 2002, after which she served as an art teacher between 2003 and 2004. During this time, she earned a bachelor's degree in early childhood education, with reading endorsement, from Otterbein University in 2004. Following this achievement, Ms. Imhoff attained a master's degree in literacy from the University of Akron in 2009.
Having always been a natural teacher, even in her youth, Ms. Imhoff attributes much of her success to the support she received from her family throughout her career. Among her most cherished accomplishments, she is proud to have volunteered in her kindergarten teacher's classroom from fifth grade through twelfth grade, which encompassed an independent study. Additionally, she helped facilitate monthly events where certain members of the community could play board games with students (the 'Boards with Badges' program), which has proved invaluable in creating long term friendships both in and out of school programs. Furthermore, she donated her free time to tutoring sessions for struggling readers during the COVID-19 pandemic, donated 100 copies of her children's book through a local chapter of United Way, generated a Family Readiness Group military newsletter for an army unit between 2014 and 2016, and, alongside her family, served as a mentor for a child via local children's services from 2018 to 2020. Within the coming years, Ms. Imhoff intends to complete and publish her third book.
Ms. Imhoff is the daughter of Jeff and Lisa Reschke. She is married to Ryan, and has a son named Ronich.
