Despite putting in upward of 50 to 60 hours per week, Ms. Barrie enjoys what she does for a living. And although her jams are particularly time-consuming, the results are gratifying. Coming up with new flavors each season, she goes through a vigorous trial and error process until she achieves the perfect results. Ms. Barrie also maintains several favorites year-round. Among her most popular items, she notes her Strawberry Rhubarb, Raspberry Rhubarb, and Raspberry Jalapeno.
Civically engaged, Ms. Barrie is a member, past president, and former membership chairperson of the Conde American Legion and a lifetime board member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She also gives back as a volunteer with Just Beecuz Floral and Gifts in Doland, South Dakota, volunteers and donates to her parish, Saint Joseph's Catholic Church, and frequently contributes to local her local fire department.
Well-qualified in her field, Ms. Barrie received a food service license through the South Dakota Department of Health. She also received ServSafe certification through the National Restaurant Association.
As a dedicated business owner, Ms. Barrie remains abreast of industry trends as a member of the Professional Women's Association.
