Mr. Elira pursued an education at Bowie State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in criminal and social justice, summa cum laude, in 2013. While pursuing his undergraduate degree, Mr. Elira worked as a research assistant at Bowie State University. He subsequently attended Western Michigan Cooley Law School through which he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude, in 2018.
While pursuing his law degree, Mr. Elira clerked for Graving and Associates, garnered experience as a junior associate with Access to Bankruptcy, clerked for the Honorable Michelle Rick of the 29th Judicial Circuit Court, and also completed an externship in the "Lifers Division," in the State Appellate Defender's Office in Michigan. There, Mr. Elira provides effective representation to indigent defenders.
Prior to establishing The Elira Law Firm LLC, Mr. Elira clerked for the Honorable William A. Snoddy, at the Circuit Court for Prince George's County, Maryland, and worked at two prominent general practice law firms in Maryland.
