BRAMPTON, ON, June 01, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Tanasha Smith has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

An accomplished social worker with years of expertise to her credit, Mrs. Smith presently works as a social worker and psychotherapist for Mastery of Self Inc. Over the years, she also worked as a behavioral teaching assistant for the Peel District School Board's Jean Augustine Secondary School. Between 2011 and 2022, she supported the individual learning needs of ninth through 12th grade students, worked independently with students that had social and emotional difficulties, and implemented behavioral interventions with students. During that time, Mrs. Smith also worked as Peel District School Board's urban priorities behavioral teaching assistant. In this capacity, she provided one-on-one emotional support and academic guidance to youth ages 13 to 21 and collaborated with teachers, administrators, social workers, outside agencies, and police officers.

During the early stages of her career, Mrs. Smith gained valuable expertise in the field as an education assistant worker for the York Region District School Board. An expert in her field, she earned a bachelor's degree in social work from the University of Manitoba in 2019. Subsequently, she received a master's degree in social work from Walden University three years later. While her career has been filled with highlights, she takes the most pride in writing a book (Once Broken) that allowed her to heal from past traumatic experiences.

The cornerstone of Mrs. Smith's success lay with her grandfather, who was her driving force. He was the first person to allow her to use her voice and recognize her pain after the abuse she suffered. Looking toward the future, she aims to speak at different conferences and group sessions for teenagers who have experienced sexual abuse. Ultimately, Mrs. Smith aims to grow her practice to a level where she can hire employees, as well as further her education by earning a PhD.

"Healing is available as long as you are willing to face your truth."
