An expert in immunotherapy and translational medicine, Dr. Montero holds an MD in clinical and surgical sciences, specialist degrees in immunology, and a PhD in immunology.

Throughout his career, Dr. Montero has developed a broad experience in drug discovery, closing the cycle of innovation to the registration of novel immune-based interventions. He holds patents associated with the discovery of first-in-class monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, and cell therapies for cancer, autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, including the first anti-CD6 monoclonal antibody for human treatment, the discovery of novel therapeutic concepts for modulating the immune response and methods associated with manufacturing recombinant proteins. In recognition of his professional achievements, Dr. Montero has been honored many times, earning a Gold Medal Award to the inventors from the United Nations World Intellectual Property Organization and other academic prizes, which have been some of the highlights of his career.
