Originally intent on becoming an animator at Disney Studios, Mr. Cerrito dropped out of college due to the emerging graphic design and computer animation jobs taking over traditional pencil and paper sketch artist jobs. Subsequently, while applying for a job at a gas station, a man pulled up and asked if he was looking for a job. As it turned out, the man was the owner of a carpet cleaning franchise. Despite not being familiar with the name, he was happy to have a job. After graduating from high school, Mr. Cerrito began with the company and started from the bottom and worked his way up by sweeping, taking out the trash, etc. Nearly ten years later, he had learned enough to strike out on his own, which has culminated in his work as the founder and chief executive officer of The Carpet Chemist Franchising that he runs alongside his wife, Tonya Cerrito.
An expert in his field, Mr. Cerrito became certified through the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration. Outside of his work, he is affiliated with the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce. In light of his professional achievements, he was honored in the 20 Under 40 through the Sentinel News in 2021. While his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Cerrito takes the most pride in the gradual steps he has made in his career. Although he started his business from a little Mercedes station wagon with portable equipment, he has since upgraded to a fleet of brand new, top-of-the-line vans with truck-mounted machines.
The cornerstone of Mr. Cerrito's success lay in his perseverance and his hard work. Similarly, he credits his wife, Tonya, for bringing their ideas to life and taking them to the next level. Within the coming years, he intends to experience the continued growth and success of his career.
