Before entering the steel industry, Nicki spent 15 years working in the dental field; she started as a Dental Assistant and advanced to become clinical and office manager, earning various certifications along the way. She left that industry when she and her husband, Matt, decided to enter the steel erection business. In her new line of work, Nicki opted to work in the field initially, where she gained the skillset needed to find success in her male-dominated industry. With Nicki's perseverance and dedication to safety, Piedmont Steel Company, LLC has flourished, obtaining elite certifications, and building a talented team of workers that has helped the company grow.
A volunteer within her local community, Nicki serves as an advisory board member to the Davidson County and Davie County Community College's welding departments, and she and her husband speak about their careers to students at the high school and college level. As a technical school graduate herself, Nicki takes enormous pride in helping youth appreciate the viability of a career in her field.

Outside of work, Nicki is a state-licensed wildlife rehabilitator who volunteers to help small mammals that have been injured or orphaned. She enjoys playing golf with her husband and 16-year-old son and spending time outdoors, especially at the beach. In addition to her son, she has one daughter, 26, and a 5-month-old granddaughter.
