Drawing on over two decades of expertise, Dr. Lathey specializes in clean energy and climate sustainability and has a proven track record of creating innovative solutions that advance the world' transition to decarbonization and a resilient future. Since 2019, she has found much success as the Vice President of Olivine Inc., a woman-owned, mission driven company and a Disadvantage Business Enterprise (DBE), where she is focused on the growth of the ClimateResponse® Virtual Power Plant (VPP) to deliver grid resilience, decarbonize buildings, and provide an equitable pathway to the clean energy system for low income and disadvantaged populations. At Olivine, Dr. Lathey is driving the development of innovative service offerings for ClimateResponse® to adapt to changing market needs, leading teams, managing client relationships and business and organizational development.

Dr. Lathey's current role leverages her in-depth and comprehensive understanding of the energy industry including building energy management, distributed energy resources (DERs) and advanced technologies, regulatory and policy regime and entrepreneurship. Prior to this role, Dr. Lathey's career has found repeated success through global projects and advising high profile clients from Fortune 500 companies, utilities and governments to design green buildings, adopt clean tech, improve energy efficiency and operations, increase productivity, and meet complex regulatory requirements. Prior to this role, Dr. Lathey garnered expertise through prominent positions at prestigious organizations such as Director of Consulting Services at TRC Companies, Program Manager at the non-profit South-central Partnership for Energy Efficiency as a Resource (SPEER), Deputy Chief-of Party at Nexant serving the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) project, and Sustainability Advisor at Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. Dr. Lathey's early career was focus on deep analysis, research and consulting for global energy projects at the Harley Ellis Devereax, Schneider Electric, World Bank and the International Resources Group (IRG).

Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Dr. Lathey had a dream of designing environmentally conscious buildings and sustainable urban environments and pursued an education by earning a Bachelor of Architecture in environmentally conscious building design at the Indraprastha University School of Architecture and Planning, New Delhi India. She continued her academic efforts at Arizona State University, earning a Master of Science in building design, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy in environmental planning. As a commitment to her field, Dr. Lathey has been certified as an energy manager and a carbon reduction manager via the Association of Energy Engineers, as well as a leadership in energy and environmental design-accredited professional via the United States Green Building Council.

Known for her contributions as a civic-minded citizen, Dr. Lathey has dedicated her entire career to making a positive impact to her community and the energy industry, and actively volunteers with organizations focused on combating climate change such as the Cleantech Open technology accelerator program, Women in Cleantech and Sustainability and the San Francisco Architecture 2030 District in a variety of volunteer roles. Reflecting on her achievements, she attributes much of her success to the support of her parents, family, peers and mentors, especially Professor Jeffrey Cook who provided an opportunity to pursue graduate studies in the United States and Ms. Elizabeth Reid whose vision for a community based VPP she is currently working on. Looking toward the future, Dr. Lathey aspires to continue her focus on developing innovative solutions to mitigate the impact of climate change, to engage underserved communities and to continue mentor future professionals in the field.
