Bruce Wilsey Suter, PhD Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Engineering

Dr. Bruce Suter retired from the field as an electronics engineer for the Air Force Research Laboratory



Due to his outstanding body of work, Dr. Suter has been honored many times, earning a lifetime achievement award and the Harry Diamond Award through the IEEE.

    WHITESBORO, NY, July 25, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Bruce Suter has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. After excelling as an engineer for many years, Dr. Suter retired from his role as a principal electronics engineer with the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). Previously, he worked for Wright-Patterson Air Force Base's Air Force Institute of Technology as an associate professor, associate professor, and professor of electrical engineering and as an associate and assistant professor of computer science. During his career, Dr. Suter gained valuable expertise in education and engineering at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, the University of South Florida, Litton Industries, and Honeywell, Inc., MIT, and Harvard University.

An expert in his field, Dr. Suter holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and Master of Electrical Engineering from the University of South Florida, where he later completed a PhD in computer science. Due to his considerable breadth of knowledge, he has authored and edited a number of articles, including Dr. Suter's book entitled "Multirate and Wavelet Signal Processing" and he served as Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing. Driven to remain abreast of ongoing industry changes, Dr. Suter aligns himself with Eta Kappa Nu, Tau Beta Pi, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE).

Due to his outstanding body of work, Dr. Suter has been honored many times, earning a lifetime achievement award and the Harry Diamond Award through the IEEE, the General Ronald W. Yates Award from Air Force Materiel Command, the Arthur S. Flemming Award from the U.S. Government, and the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. Similarly, he has been featured in such publications as Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Business and Finance, Who's Who in American Education, and Who's Who in Science and Engineering. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in receiving his PhD, publishing his book, and being honored as both IEEE and AFRL Fellow. Looking ahead, Dr. Suter intends to enjoy his retirement.
