Victor Rose has been inducted into the Prestigious Who's Who Biographical Registry

Victor Rose is recognized for his expertise as an artist and guitarist.



    WICHITA, KS, August 02, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Victor Rose has been included in "Marquis Who's Who". As in all "Marquis Who's Who" biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Victor Rose, who has recently retired from teaching Art Appreciation and Music Appreciation is still active with his sculpture maintenance business, Victor Rose Curator and Conservator Services. He is also still producing drawings and paintings, and performing solo as well as with his band "Nimbodog."

Leveraging more than five decades of excellence in the fine arts, including the visual arts and music, Mr. Rose has earned distinction as a guitarist and vocalist with his induction into the "Kansas Music Hall of Fame" in 2015. Victor has performed with various groups in the region since 1969, including "The Benders" performing in a four-state region and as a backup band for "The Platters" and "The Coasters." Victor self-published a scale and chord encyclopedia for guitar in 1976 entitled "The Mandalic Guitar Encyclopedia." Victor has recorded three solo guitar CDs and along with his son on drum kit is working on recording with "Nimbodog." Look for music by "Nimbodog" and "Victor Rose" on YouTube and Spotifiy. Victor has embarked on many paths during his professional journey and one of those paths is the visual arts. Accomplishments on this path include a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Cum Laude, with Honors with emphasis in drawing and painting, 1979, and a Master of Fine Arts, drawing and painting, full scholarship and teaching assistantship, 1997, both from Wichita State University. He has participated in competitions and invitational exhibits at the Wichita Art Museum and other regional institutions. Victor is represented in regional art collections including "Father Flanagan's Boys Town" in Nebraska and was featured in the spring 1996 publication of "Microcosmos" with the cover art and five color reproductions inside. Victor has organized numerous interdisciplinary/collaborative performances and exhibits at Wichita State University, Newman University, Century II and other Wichita venues.

Victor Rose served as instructor in the visual arts for "City Arts" from 1997-2002, Wichita State University 1993-1997 and 1998-2006, Cowley County Community College 2004-2008 and Hutchinson Community College 2008-2012. He was an instructor for drawing, painting and "Intro to Humanities" and ran the gallery at Newman University from 1999-2004. Teaching from 2008-2020 Victor retired as instructor of art appreciation and music appreciation at Butler County Community College.

Since retiring from teaching as adjunct faculty Victor has completed a mural and a series of prints. The mural is 9' tall and 17' long and is located inside of "Healing Wichita CBD+" in Wichita Kansas. The mural is titled "Healing Wichita" and is a combination of symbols of healing and images of Wichita superimposed over a sunset. The series of over 30 prints are line drawings using contour, cross-contour and cross-hatching and can be seen at "artrepreneur.com."

Outside of his primary career efforts Mr. Rose began his own conservator business in 2004. Doing business as Victor Rose, Curator and Conservator Services, he has developed techniques for cleaning bronzes and marbles. Victor and his son provide sculpture cleaning services for Resthaven Cemetery, Wichita KS, the City of Eldorado, Main Street, Butler County Community College and other public and private sculpture collections.

As a participating member in the community Victor has volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America since 1996, serving variously as Den Leader, Cub Master, Scout Master and as a leader trainer. Victor, along with his wife Gwen are currently members of the Kansas Native Plant Society. Gwen and Victor have operated a henna body art booth at the Great Plains Renaissance Festival and other fairs for over 20 years.
