Driven by passion and an abiding fascination with the applications of engineering and project management in versatile fields, Ms. John serves as the Division Chief for Safety Program Management at the US Space Systems Command (SSC). SSC is the field command organization managing acquisition, development, fielding and sustainment of space systems for the U.S. Space Force. Hailing from a deep well of experience in the public and private sectors, she bears responsibility for examining SSC safety functions, assessing where gaps reside and evaluating requirements for fully supporting SSC missions. In this capacity, Ms. John leverages a proven ability to collaborate with her colleagues, implement creative solutions and communicate clearly and concisely across organizational hierarchies. In honor of her accomplishments in this endeavor, she was notably recognized for her technical contributions in terms of preventing recurring mishaps in SSC missions by Lt. Gen. Michael A. Guetlein.

Outside of her work at the SSC, Ms. John has found further success as a small business owner via Extended Resources. In this role, she provides her services as a consultant for infrastructure projects. Previously, she built a prolific career in the areas of transit and transportation, municipal utility management and academia. Beginning as a student engineer at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA) Jet Propulsion Laboratory in 1986, she went on to serve at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power from 1988 until 1996, and as a project manager with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority between 1996 and 2004. Ms. John subsequently advanced to further positions of high leadership as a project manager and vice president CH2M HILL, what is now Jacobs Engineering Inc. During that time, she further availed herself to students as an instructor at the University of California Riverside Extension. Following this period, she assumed her current role at the Air Force what would become the Space Systems Command.

Ms. John sought her formal education at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, earning a Bachelor of Science in electrical and computer engineering in 1988. She returned years later to attain a Master of Business Administration in 2004. Well-qualified in her field, she has also been licensed as Professional Engineer and has been certified as a Project Management Professional by the Project Management Institute and as a Certified Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence by the American Society of Quality. Her community support and involvement includes serving two years as the chairperson for Citizens Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) for Charter Oak School District and one of the founding members of Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS) Inland Empire Chapter. She is an avid presenter who had presented at American Public Transit Association (APTA) and at academia forums such as GRIDS@USC. In 2008, Ms. John served as a member of the US Delegation Team to India led by then FTA Administrator Mr. James Simpson under President George W. Bush. Among her most cherished career achievements, Ms. John is proud of her contributions as an engineer in municipal utility service, and as a leader in transit and now in space exploration. In accounting for her overall success, she largely credits the providence of faith and the confidence it brings, as well as her commitment to maintaining a sense of balance and understanding. Likewise, she is deeply grateful for the influence of her family, especially her parents. Their love and support guided her toward a prosperous career. Looking toward the future, Ms. John aspires to continue contributing to the positive upward trajectory of the U.S. Space Force and to pass on her success to her son and daughter, her son has already begun to follow in her footsteps as an engineer and her daughter is cherishing project management in the medical field.
