Mr. Brar is an established business professional who owns and operates several successful companies, including Brar Brothers Inc., a national trucking company he owns with his siblings. A substantial business that has evolved exponentially since its founding, it sits on more than three acres of property, employs dozens of employees, and hauls items throughout the U.S. via its fleet of approximately 40 trucks and trailers. Mr. Brar also manages a sister company, Brar Logistics Inc., Apple Express, Malwa express, JJR resources and Virginia Transport.
Adding to his entrepreneurial endeavors, Mr. Brar launched the 2020 Driving School in Fredericksburg, Virginia, a highly successful certified commercial driver's license school that offers regular and commercial driver education courses as one of the biggest of its kind in the nation. His school employs over 15 instructors and offers online and in-classroom courses seven days per week, including for class A, B, and C licenses. Notably, his team trains 18 to 20 Afghanistan refugees monthly to help fill the gap for licensed 18-wheeler drivers. Mr. Brar also employs several natives from the country to translate and better serve students as they adjust to life in the U.S. Subsequently, Mr. Brar founded ELD 2 GO, an electronic logbook software established to support his drivers, subcontractors at his trucking company and others nationwide.
More recently, Mr. Brar invested in the hospitality sector when he purchased Taj Indian Cuisine in 2022, a locally known authentic Indian restaurant purchased from the previous owners after 15 years in business. Contributory to his success, Mr. Brar is a consultant to his daughter, son and nephews, who support his companies as full-time employees.
When Mr. Brar first came to the U.S. in 1995, he began working at gas station, 7-11, H&R Block, and as an entry-level technician for Jiffy Lube. Contributing long hours, he earned progressive responsibilities and was eventually promoted to assistant manager and store manager. In 2001, he was transferred to another location and enjoyed tremendous success in sales and customer accounts. Mr. Brar exceeded expectations, earning the roles of district manager and executive vice president. Highly influential in the overall success of the franchise's exponential growth and expansion, Jiffy Lube had just four locations when he joined the company, and it grew to 18 by the time he resigned in 2018.
A native of Punjab, Mr. Brar earned a diploma in electrical engineering from Industrial Training Institute (ITI) before serving six years in the Indian Army and graduating from military school with an Automotive Electrical Engineering diploma. He subsequently worked with a leading construction company of luxury homes before immigrating to the U.S. While operating his multiple businesses, Mr. Brar obtained an associate degree from Germanna Community College in Fredericksburg, Virginia, in 2021. He also completed coursework at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg.
Honoring his professional success, Mr. Brar was recognized by Jiffy Lube with a Sales Award in 2002 for $2 million in sales. One year later, he won the Jiffy Lube International Manager of the Year award. Since becoming a business owner, Mr. Brar has also garnered recognition with feature articles in The Free-Lance Star, Stafford Magazine and Fredericksburg Today. He attributes his success to overcoming immeasurable hardships and challenges by persevering and remaining committed to his goals.
