Working alongside his business partner, president, and founder, Yvonne Kason, MD, a family physician, retired transpersonal MD-psychotherapist, published author, and an internationally known medical expert in this area, he focuses on providing an ongoing forum via virtual presentations and online events, including their annual international conference, which was just held in June 2023 and featured several guest speakers and experts worldwide.

Robert experienced two shortly after having a massive heart attack aboard an airplane in 2009 and being deceased for more than 45 minutes. In addition to being profiled on the television show "I Survived Beyond and Back," he was a case study in the book, "Life After Near Death" by author Debra Diamond. Robert Bare was also recently interviewed for inclusion in an upcoming episode of National Geographic's "Visiting The Beyond" and over 15 podcasts and speaking engagements.
Earning much recognition, Spiritual Awakenings International is operational in 86 countries. It also serves both English- and Spanish-speaking members.
Aside from his contributions to Spiritual Awakenings International, Robert has remained active as a grant and technical writer for the past three decades, focusing his work on helping local organizations in need, such as homeless shelters, disabled veteran homes, sewage treatment plants, water treatment plants, and more. In 2022, he was able to secure funding for 22 grants. Robert Bare is also recognized as a retired police officer who served over 23 years on the Santa Cruz Police Department and the California Highway Patrol until 1992. Among other roles, he had the opportunity to teach as an adjunct professor at National University, serve as a trial administrator for a Native American Nation, and serves as the general manager and city administrator for three communities in California and Oregon.
Robert Bare has been active in his community, serving on numerous local boards and commissions, such as the County Drug-Free Coalition and the Commission on Children and Families. He has also served as a past president of his local humane society and the Pony League in Santa Cruz. Moreover, Robert Bare is a past member of Rotary International, Kiwanis International, Lions Club International, and has been a member of the Elks Lodge since 1982.
Among his professional memberships, Robert Bare was a member and former vice president of the International Association for Near-Death Studies. In recognition of his hard work and dedication to his previous careers and communities , he was a nominee for the Special Districts General Manager of the Year in 1976, recognized as the Peace Officer of the Year in 1996, and was a two-time nominee for the Citizen of the Year (1976 and 2004).
