Mr. Gibert is recognized for his success and tenure in Mississippi as an entrepreneur, communications professional, and dedicated public servant. He co-founded Venture Technologies, a technology and cloud services provider in 1986. By leveraging Venture's mission of helping organizations achieve excellence using information technology, the company enjoyed exponential organic growth. Additionally, as the CEO of Venture, Mr. Gibert engineered numerous mergers and acquisitions of strategic targets, catapulting Venture to national prominence as a technology solutions provider. Initially funded by a $189,000 start-up loan, under Mr. Gibert's guidance, Venture was sold to ConvergeOne in 2019 in an all-cash deal worth $92 million.

Since 2020, Mr. Gibert has been hosting MidDays with Gerard Gibert, which airs statewide on SuperTalk Mississippi, each weekday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.. In addition to interviews with state and federal elected officials as well as civic leaders, and policy advocates from across Mississippi, each show includes Gibert's insightful analysis of political, economic, and cultural issues shaping the state and nation. Based in Jackson, Supertalk Mississippi is recognized as a leader in news, politics, sports, and music.

Dedicated to growing the economy of his county and state, Mr. Gibert was appointed to serve as the at-large member of the board of the Madison County Economic Development Authority (MCEDA) whose mission is to foster economic growth in Madison County. During his tenure, he's served as the chairman and secretary/treasurer of the MCEDA board. Additionally, he serves as a MCEDA appointee for the Madison County Business League and Foundation, serving as an information resource and advocate for the County's business community. Mr. Gibert also serves as the board chair for Innovate Mississippi, an organization focused on guiding technology start-ups and expanding Mississippi's digital economy.

Since inception in 2014, Mr. Gibert has served as the board chairman of Empower Mississippi, a policy advocacy organization focused on education freedom, common sense justice reform and supply side economic policy. Governor Phil Bryant appointed Mr. Gibert to serve on the inaugural board of the Mississippi Lottery Corporation (MLC) in 2018, as the vice chairman of the board. In 2023, Governor Tate Reeves re-appointed Mr. Gibert to a new 5-year term on the MLC board.

Mr. Gibert focuses on various civic initiatives, serving on the boards of Canopy Children's Solutions, the American Red Cross of Mississippi, and as the 2019 Heart Walk Chairman for the American Heart Association – Mississippi.

During his early career, Mr. Gibert was a senior consultant for Arthur Andersen & Company from 1980 to 1985, in the division that became global digital consulting firm, Accenture. Looking toward future endeavors, Mr. Gibert is contemplating entering the world of politics or serving in a leadership role in higher education.

Mr. Gibert graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting in 1980. He also received certification as a computing professional through the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP).

In recognition of his success, Mr. Gibert has been the recipient of numerous professional accolades, including Top 50 Most Influential Leaders in Mississippi, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Finalist for 2015, 2016 and 2018, and as the Mississippian of the Year by the AITP in 1996 and 2013. In 2017, Mr. Gibert received ConnectWise IT Nation's first ever Innovation Award.

His company, Venture Technologies, garnered an array of awards and honors during the company's 33 years of operations. Cisco Systems recognized Venture as the 2018 Data Center Architecture Partner of the Year, 2017 Services Partner of the Year, SLED Partner of the Year in 2013, 2014 Solution Innovation Partner of the Year – U.S. Theater and Outstanding Solutions Partner of the Year in 2014. The MBJ also recognized Venture as one the Best Places to Work and as the 33rd Largest Private Business in Mississippi.
