In this capacity, he is responsible for research and planning in facilitation of a more efficient tax structure, overseeing the federal tax audits with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and management of national tax audits in all 50 states. Prior to this role, he was employed as Tax Counsel at Marsh and McLennan Companies Inc. from 2017 to 2023. Mr. Brussel initially began his career working as Tax Manager and subsequently as Associate Tax Director at the Bristol-Myers Squibb Company from 2009 until 2017.
Before embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Brussel pursued an education at Northwestern University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in legal studies and business institutions in 2005. He continued his academic efforts at the University of Miami Herbert Business School, earning a Master of Business Administration in finance in 2008. Subsequently, he attained a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law in 2009. Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Mr. Brussel contributes efforts to the Northwestern University Alumni Association and the board of trustees at his local temple.
