In pursuit of a career in medicine, Dr. Alan H. Singer attended Brooklyn College, from which he received a Bachelor of Arts in biology in 1972. Pursuing higher education, he subsequently received a DDS in dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery from the College of Dentistry at Howard University in Washington, D.C., in 1978. During his doctoral coursework, he became enthralled with the practice of dental medicine and, thereafter, decided to pursue oral surgery as his subspecialty. Following his receipt of his dentistry degree, Dr. Singer completed coursework in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Veterans Affairs Hospital, Howard University Hospital and D.C. General Hospital between 1978 and 1981.
