Before co-founding Nelson Kuiper PLLC, Ms. Kuiper began her career working in corporate payment systems for US Bank in 2008. She subsequently became an attorney and the head of the bankruptcy department for Manty and Associates, P.A. in 2009, where she served as both private counsel and a bankruptcy trustee, administering over 300 cases a month for debtors who were filing bankruptcy until becoming a solo practitioner with her own firm, Kuiper Law, in 2013. She continued her career as a general counsel and chief compliance officer for Resolute Capital Partners in 2018 where she helped form a registered investment advisor with the SEC, developed an enterprise-wide compliance program, and managed all their form filings. During 2022, she also served as general counsel for developed markets with Credix Finance, helping the FinTech scale into Latin America.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Kuiper attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2002 and earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Minnesota in 2005. Following these achievements, she attained a Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law in 2008 and gained an executive Master of Business Administration in leadership and organizational strategy from the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School in 2023. Additionally, she is a certified personal trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine and certified yoga instructor with the Yoga Alliance.
Within the coming years, Ms. Kuiper intends to continue learning and exploring other financial technologies, such as cryptocurrency, blockchain and artificial intelligence, as well as the regulations that govern them. She also plans to integrate her personal passions into her legal practice, including environmental regulations.
