TAMPA, FL, September 29, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Donald J. Fournier Jr. with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Fournier celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Fournier is a mechanical engineer specializing in forensic engineering and accident reconstruction. He serves as an expert witness in contested matters throughout the United States and is also a successful entrepreneur and business leader.

Mr. Fournier formed Forensic Engineering Technologies, LLC (FET) in 2009 in Orlando, Florida, and served as its CEO until 2020 when he oversaw the successful acquisition of FET by J.S. Held, LLC (J.S. Held), a multinational consulting firm. While leading FET, he recruited a team of experts in the areas of mechanical, civil, electrical, and biomechanical engineering to provide forensic investigation and reconstruction services to attorneys, adjusters and risk managers related to traffic accident reconstruction, failure analysis, premises liability claims, fire claims, human factors, and injury causation. By developing a culture based on teamwork, subject matter expertise, early adoption of emerging technologies, and client service, he increased the size and revenue of the company seven-fold. FET earned the reputation as one of Florida's preeminent forensic engineering and accident reconstruction firms, making it a natural acquisition fit for J.S. Held.

Since joining the J.S. Held team as a Senior Engineer in January 2021, Mr. Fournier continues to lead the Florida accident reconstruction practice, while supporting the expansion of the accident reconstruction practice nationally through targeted acquisitions of forensic firms.

Prior to forming FET, Mr. Fournier rose from project manager to senior vice president at Kimley Horn & Associates, where he directed the significant growth of the forensic engineering and accident reconstruction practice in Florida after joining in 2000. Mr. Fournier developed his teaching skills at the University of Southern Mississippi where he served as an assistant professor from 1997 to 2000 in the School of Engineering Technology, teaching courses in mechanical engineering, safety, human factors, environmental compliance, and pollution control. During this period, he also served as the president of Spectrum Design & Consulting, a startup product development firm focused on combustion equipment for glass manufacturing and iron ore reduction. From 1995 to 1996 he served as a project engineer with Combustion Tec, building on his R&D, testing and combustion engineering experience from Acurex Environmental where he began his professional career as an engineer in 1988.

Mr. Fournier attributes his success to developing his subject matter expertise and a talent for recruiting and developing engineers, scientists, and technicians. His success arises from the core values of teamwork, client service, attention to detail, and planning. He also notes his aptitude for teaching and his passion for sharing knowledge with the next generation of engineers. As he transitions toward retirement, Mr. Fournier aims to complete his long-term goal of ensuring that the future practice of forensic engineering is served by trained and passionate experts.

As a test engineer, professor, and consultant, Mr. Fournier has disseminated his research findings in various professional journals and conference proceedings. He has published and presented papers on accident reconstruction, failure analysis, training, pollution control, and waste incineration. He also co-invented OXY-Plus, an oxygen-based reformer for iron ore reduction. Mr. Fournier presently holds several U.S. patents in his field.

An alumnus of the University of Florida, Mr. Fournier earned a Bachelor of Science with High Honors and a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering in 1986 and 1988, respectively. Mr. Fournier has been continuously licensed as a Professional Engineer by the State of Florida since 1994. He is a Board-Certified Diplomate in Forensic Engineering by the National Academy of Forensic Engineers and is an ACTAR Accredited Traffic Accident Reconstructionist. He has been recognized by the Lions Club as a Melvin Jones Fellow for Humanitarian Service, received the USEPA STAR Award for Excellence in Research, and the University of Florida President Recognition Award.
