Prior to his current role, Mr. Smith served honorably with the United States Army from 1996 until 2005, including as a Chief Warrant Officer starting in 2001. In recognition of his dedicated service, he was honored with a Bronze Star Medal from the Secretary of the Army.
Following his military service, Mr. Smith was an Operations Management Trainee resulting in becoming third shift supervisor for Ferguson Enterprise in 2005 and became a Business Analyst for McLane Advanced Technologies in 2008. Following this time, he worked as a consultant for CGI in 2013 until taking a role as a project manager for McLane Company, Inc. in 2018. He also authored two books of poetry, "Sitting In Silence, Dying Out Loud" in 2007 and "Memento Mei" in 2021.
While developing his professional journey, Mr. Smith earned an Associate's Degree in General Studies from Central Texas College and an Associate's Degree in Business Administration from American InterContinental University in 2008. Following these achievements, he attained a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2010 and a Master of Business Administration in 2011, both also from American InterContinental University. He subsequently gained a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Full Sail University in 2013. He also earned a graduate certificate in Mass Communications and Media Studies in 2018. Eminently qualified in his field, he is a Certified Project Management Professional with the Project Management Institute and is a Certified Section 508 Trusted Tester by the Office of Accessible Systems and Technology.
Looking to the future, Mr. Smith intends to publish a novel in addition to his poetry. He has also written screenplays and plans to pursue public speaking on Management Leadership. Accounting for his success, he credits the dedicated mentors he had throughout his career, including in the military.
