Ms. Smith is an independent fine art and real estate broker who has dedicated her career to curating and promoting underground and outsider art including street art, digital art and NFTs, and works by incarcerated artists. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from San Jose State University, and in 2007, she completed a paralegal degree from De Anza College. Ms. Smith is a real estate Broker #01237734 in the state of California and has been in the real estate industry since 1982.

In 2021, Ms. Smith established Anna D. Smith Fine Art & Real Estate Broker, an independent venture embodying her philosophy that "fine art needs a home, and a home needs fine art." She handles both commercial and residential property sales and listings throughout the Silicon Valley area, including lots and developmental properties, mobile homes, industrial buildings, and rental properties. In addition to real estate, Ms. Smith sells fine art prints and original pieces by California-based emerging artist Donald "C-Note" Hooker, an incarcerated artist and writer creating mixed-media works on paper addressing themes of identity and race in America, inequality, and the justice system. Ms. Smith has curated two billboard exhibitions of Hooker's work and has sold more than 200 prints of the artist's work to date.

Ms. Smith has been featured in media outlets including Billboard Insider, and her articles and interviews with underground makers and tattoo artists have been published in VENTS Magazine and independent publications. She is the author of the 2023 Underground Art Market Report and has gained traction as a voice to watch in the underground art market. Ms. Smith is the founder of A Better San Jose and a dedicated social justice and prison reform advocate who has worked with the Larkin Street Youth Center, and as a volunteer court appointed special advocate for the Santa Clara County Superior Court. In order to remain ahead of professional developments in her field, Ms. Smith is a member of Art Table, the National Association of Realtors, the California Association of Realtors, and the Silicon Valley Association of Realtors.

Ms. Smith credits her success to her drive and is proud to have founded this business at the age of 58. She hopes to remain an inspiration to others by subverting expectations in her personal life and her work, including a recent skydiving adventure at age 60.
