CEDAR CREST, NM, December 07, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Linda Downey has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Backed by years of professional expertise in voiceover work, creative direction, and more, Ms. Downey presently excels as the creative director of LJDowney & Associates, through which she has also established herself as a voice talent to be watched. Over the years, she has done work in all 50 states for various businesses, including automobile dealerships, radio, television, and the government. Similarly, she serves as the owner and director of LJDProductions and The Investment Team. Outside of her work in the arts, she matches buyers to sellers as an investor's associate for Pro Investment Team LLC. During the early stages of her career, Ms. Downey gained valuable expertise in the arts and the mortgage industry with Mortgage Origination and Jay Wilson & Associates.
An expert in her field, Ms. Downey completed coursework at the University of New Mexico. Although she didn't intend to follow in her husband's footsteps as a radio station disc jockey, he returned home one day and encouraged her to obtain her license given that their children would need to attend college one day, all of which did and are contributing members to a better society. Under the tutelage of her husband and a voiceover coach by the name of Jim Aubel, Ms. Downey received her 2nd class radio license through the Federal Communications Commission and became a SAG-AFTRA affiliated with the American Federation of TV and Radio Artists.
In light of her outstanding body of work in the voiceover space, Ms. Downey has won two Emmys for her work in "New Mexico Balloon Fiesta" and "La Magruda" documentaries. While her career has been filled with highlights, she takes the most pride in the Emmy Awards she received for her voiceover work and in being one of only two women to be put on air in New Mexico in 1977. Looking toward the future, Ms. Downey aims to teach voiceover work at the University of New Mexico or Central New Mexico Community College. Likewise, she has a series of children's books that she hopes to have illustrated soon.
