Mr. Chockalingam is a software engineer celebrating more than 20 years of success across sectors. Born in India, Mr. Chockalingam showed academic progress from a young age, and attended St. Mary's Matriculation Boys Higher Secondary School for computer science after completing the tenth grade at another institution. In 2003, he graduated from Madras University with a Bachelor of Engineering Technology in information technology, which was followed by a master's degree in internet architecture. Mr. Chockalingam has continued to pursue opportunities to upskill and remain at the vanguard of his industry, and in 2021, he was awarded a postgraduate degree in cloud computing by the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business, an accomplishment he considers a career highlight. In addition to his formal education, Mr. Chockalingam holds numerous industry credentials and certifications in technical and leadership skills.
Mr. Chockalingam built much of his early career in the aviation industry, consulting internationally on projects including an innovative software integration and cabin management system for use in passenger jets. In 2004, he became a junior software engineer for Softura after working briefly for Lucid Software Limited. The following year, he was named a lead engineer for HCL Technologies, where he built a reputation for excellence until his departure in 2009 to join Cognizant Technology Solutions as a senior project associate. Mr. Chockalingam became a senior consultant for Capgemini in 2012, rising to become a manager for the company from 2018 until 2020, when he transitioned into the banking and finance sectors as a lead software engineer, followed by application engineer for Discover Financial Services. Since November 2023, Mr. Chockalingam has been a principal application engineer for Discover Financial Services, focusing on application and API development and maintenance, including project management, data analysis, product testing, and deployment functions.
