Mr. Dimler is an attorney specializing in commercial contracts for the biotechnology industry. In 2017, he was awarded his Juris Doctor by the George Washington University ("GW") Law School. He began his career at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, joining the firm's San Diego office in 2017 as a patent litigation associate after completing a summer associate position in the same practice. Mr. Dimler became a licensing, strategic partnering, and commercial transactions associate of Gunderson Dettmer in 2020, where he would practice for one year before accepting a Commercial Counsel role with Twist Bioscience Corporation. Since 2022, Mr. Dimler has been Senior Commercial Counsel for the company where he assists in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements including intellectual property licensing contracts and service agreements, biopharmaceutical research discovery contracts, and inbound and outbound supply agreements. His work has extended to international contracts governing operations and companies based in Latin America, the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, and the Middle East.
In addition to his work in industry, Mr. Dimler is an adjunct professor at the California Western School of Law where he teaches a pre-bar exam course for third year students preparing to take the bar exam upon graduation. Throughout his career, Mr. Dimler has prioritized serving the community through pro bono legal work for the Casa Cornelia Law Center in San Diego, California, and other organizations. He has been the recipient of a 2019 John Wilson Award from the pro bono committee of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati and a 2019 Pro Bono Publico/La Mancha Award from the Casa Cornelia Law Center in recognition of his outreach. He has recently been recognized by Attorney Intel as a Top 50 Attorney of San Diego for 2023.

Mr. Dimler took an active role in his education at GW becoming a member of multiple student legal specialty groups to learn as much as he could about different areas of practice such as immigration, intellectual property, and cybersecurity. This included serving on the boards of the Student Body Association (Weekly Programming Director 2016-17), Students Intellectual Property Law Association (Fundraising Chair 2016-17) and the Cyberlaw Students Association (Vice President 2015-16). Mr. Dimler was also selected to (i) participate in the 2015 Alternative Spring Break program through the Immigration Law Association for a week long experiential learning and pro bono service trip with a diverse group of actors on the southern border of Arizona including advocacy groups, private parties, and government agents, and (ii) study abroad for eight weeks during 2015 through the GW Munich Intellectual Property summer program at the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center and Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition in Germany.
Early Life and Career
Raised by a nurse mother and a pediatric surgeon father, he developed an early interest in medicine and the sciences and attended the International Baccalaureate (IB) program at North High School in Phoenix, Arizona. He graduated from North earning an IB diploma in 2008 while also lettering in three varsity sports (tennis, basketball, and golf), attending two Arizona state and one national student counsel association conferences, and leading the tennis team to the second-place trophy in the 5A Division II state championships in 2008 as a senior. After graduation from North, Mr. Dimler attended Whittier College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in biology in 2012. As an undergraduate, Mr. Dimler found diverse success as a summer intern in the United States House of Representatives for former Tennessee District 1 Congressman David Phil Roe and gained additional recognition for co-authoring a paper on pharmacological telomerase activators in human T cells published in the journal Cells in January 2013. He also played on the Whittier College tennis team for all four years, was recognized as a NCAA Division III Academic All-American in the spring of 2009, 2011 and 2012, and was a member of the college chorus his final two years of undergraduate study. Mr. Dimler credits his success to his insatiable curiosity and desire to help others and learn about the world around him, and he looks forward to continuing his work at Twist Bioscience Corporation with the goal of moving into a director position and exploring opportunities to work internationally. In his personal time, Mr. Dimler enjoys travel (whether new states or abroad), hiking with his wife and dog, and surfing, snowboarding, and playing tennis and golf. He is also a "superfan" of his hometown NBA team, the Phoenix Suns, and follows all Phoenix and San Diego professional sports teams with a passion.
