A skilled insurance professional with a keen dedication for community involvement, Mr. Johnson has earned distinction as the vice president and Wisconsin branch manager for the Erie Insurance Group. Since 2021, he has focused his efforts on expanding the organization's reach in Wisconsin, including serving as an executive sponsor for the African American Affinity Network in 12 states and the District of Columbia and leading the CamaradERIE Employee Resource Group to promote diversity awareness and increase diversity among agents and staff. Fred manages a sales team that is responsible for the profitable growth of 140 agencies across the state of Wisconsin. Additionally, he creates commercials and partners with Fox 47 News while working as a radio show host for 101.7 The Truth, an audio platform dedicated to supporting Milwaukee's Black community.
Outside of his primary career efforts, Mr. Johnson lends his expertise as a member of the governing board rating committee for the Wisconsin Compensation Rating Bureau and is a youth basketball and soccer coach. He is also a member for the boards of directors for the Coalition for Safe Driving MKE, the Community Insurance Information Center and the Latino Chamber of Commerce of Southeastern Wisconsin.
Before his present role, Mr. Johnson began his career as a high school intern for Erie Insurance Group in 2002. Upon graduation he held several roles in claims including auto claims adjuster and property claims adjuster. In 2012 he earned a promotion to district sales manager in Cleveland, Ohio. Following this time, he was promoted to the vice president and Canton branch manager for the company from 2018 until 2021. Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Johnson earned a bachelor's degree in internet marketing and advertising from the University of Akron in 2008.
Among his professional accomplishments, Mr. Johnson was honored with a National Executive Sponsor of the Year Award three times from the Global Employee Resource Group Network. Within the coming years, he intends to increase the visibility for his initiatives in diversity awareness and his goals for the Coalition for Safe Driving MKE.
