Prior to his current role, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, from 2013 to 2018. Before that, he served as an assistant professor at Chitwan Medical College in Nepal from 2011 to 2012. His earlier experiences include working as a research/teaching assistant at Chonbuk National University in South Korea from 2008 to 2011 and as a lecturer at the Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences in Nepal from 2005 to 2008. Dr. Shah's expertise in cardiovascular and respiratory systems is a testament to his commitment to achieving excellence in his field.

Dr. Shah's educational background laid the foundation for his professional achievements. He earned a Doctor of Medical Science from Chonbuk National University, School of Medicine, in South Korea in 2011 after completing a Master of Science in human physiology at the Manipal College of Medical Sciences, Kathmandu University in 2005. He began his academic journey with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Birendra Multiple College at Tribhuwan University in 2002. Dr. Shah credits his success to his perseverance, passion for medical education, ability to positively impact his students' success and family support.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Shah has contributed to his community by volunteering as an executive committee member of MentorUp Edmonton in Canada, where he connected professionals with international university students to share their experiences and guidance. This involvement not only enriched the lives of those students but also underscored Dr. Shah's commitment to fostering growth and development beyond the classroom.

Dr. Shah's personal journey is marked by significant milestones that have shaped his career path. After completing his master's degree in human physiology and teaching at a medical school in Nepal for three years, he received a scholarship that allowed him to pursue his doctoral studies in South Korea. Following this achievement, he conducted postdoctoral research in Canada before relocating to the United States to join the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley as an assistant professor in 2018.

Born in Nepal, Dr. Shah also enjoys staying active by playing sports like volleyball and jogging regularly. Looking ahead, he aims to continue advancing his career by aspiring towards an associate professorship while seeking leadership roles that will enable him to broaden his influence on students' education and inspire them towards greater achievements.
