Mr. Gupta is a Chartered Accountant celebrating more than 25 years of expertise in strategic financial management, international financing and global corporate finance. He began his professional journey as a student at St. Helen's School, studying accounting, economics, taxation and auditing before enrolling at the University of Calcutta, which awarded him a Bachelor of Commerce, with honors, in accountancy, economics, auditing, and taxation in 1998. In 2001, Mr. Gupta earned Chartered Accountant Certification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, and in 2005 he was accredited as semi qualified Chartered Certified Accountant (International Accounting Standards) by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, London. He has continued his professional development with additional coursework in investment and finance in emerging markets and developing economies through the World Bank Group.
He began his career with Jain & Company, Chartered Accountants, in 1996, where he rose from a public accountant role to become a senior audit manager during his five-year tenure. He served as a public accountant for J. Prasad & Associates and Gupta & Co. before joining as Finance Controller for Jafton Trade Ltd, in 2003. The following year, Mr. Gupta became a partner of SBA Associates, where he worked on projects including financial analysis of a $20 million steel project. Mr. Gupta continued to excel professionally with the Al Dobowi Group, where he rose from an assistant manager of finance and accounts to controller between 2006 and 2008, with successes including visualization of a green field project, financial modelling, structuring and financing of the $60 million Traction battery project, which he considers to be a career highlight in the field of financing.
Building on the international financial expertise and connections he developed at Al Dobowi Group, Mr. Gupta moved on to a role as international treasury manager for ION Geophysical in 2008, overseeing international banking and finance relationship, acquisition financing, import and export documentation SBLC & performance bonds, and credit analysis for 15 markets and managing $225 million debt by acting as Asst. Treasurer before his promotion to corporate finance manager in 2012 in USA. As corporate finance manager, Mr. Gupta led ION Geophysical through a period of transition including corporate restructuring and acquisition by a private equity firm, earning a productivity award from the company chief financial officer in recognition of his service. Between 2014 and 2018, he acted as the international business, treasury, and FP&A manager at SB International, Inc., playing a key role in directing financial strategy for the company's Hong Kong-based accounts and operational expansion in Asia in the LNG Business with strategic partnership with Government of India company. After leaving SB International, Inc., Mr. Gupta was the deputy general manager of treasury services for Chemie Tech, a United Arab Emirates-based provider of specialized engineering and procurement and construction services for oil and gas industry clients where he developed relationships with international banking and financial agencies in raising debt up to $700 million which was instrumental in executing company projects in Europe , USA, Middle East , Africa and India and was involved in the process for IPO rollout in AIM London and preliminary discussion for issue of listing of Green Bonds.
Since 2022, Mr. Gupta has held his current position as United States finance controller for GeBBS Healthcare Solutions, overseeing all accounting and finance functions including internal accounting, auditing and compliance, and leading financial analysis and process during a period of major company expansion and acquisition strategy. Mr. Gupta credits his success to his experience in a diverse range of industries with listed and unlisted MNC, experience in various countries and ability to rise to the challenges presented by the fast-paced global business sector. He looks forward to building further relationships in international finance and investments in the coming years, with the eventual goals of transitioning into C-level corporate leadership roles within five years and launching an independent consulting venture within a decade.
