Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Chen joined L3 Harris Technologies in Dallas as a member of the technology strategy team, systems of systems architect, and principal fellow in 2023. Recognized as a defense and space manufacturing organization based in Melbourne, Florida, L3 specializes in providing end-to-end technology products and solutions that support the defense industry. Recruited from Raytheon Intelligence & Space, Dr. Chen was hired as a chief engineer, engineering fellow, and member of the technology staff in Dallas in 2018. He was promoted to technology director in 2022 and principal engineering fellow in 2023 in McKinney, Texas.
