WESTERVILLE, OHIO, January 30, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lawrence Vielhaber has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

A seasoned economist with more than three decades of experience, Dr. Vielhaber leverages his considerable expertise as an adjunct professor at Ohio Dominican University, where he teaches two managerial economics classes and one econometrics class per year. Previously, he worked in executive roles with JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Denham Capital Management LP. Likewise, as an economist for Sowood Capital Management, Dr. Vielhaber developed and utilized a stochastic time-series model to predict electricity prices by region.

During the early stages of his career, Dr. Vielhaber gained valuable expertise in price forecasting, general finance, research, and budget analysis in various roles with Capstone Global Energy, Tractebel, LECG, Marathon Power Co., Marathon Oil Co., Texas A&M University, and Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. Due to his vast breadth of knowledge, he has also contributed to The Energy Journal. Before starting his professional journey, he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Toledo. Subsequently, Dr. Vielhaber received a Master of Arts in economics from Bowling Green State University and a PhD from Texas A&M University.

Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Dr. Vielhaber is affiliated with the International Association for Energy Economists, Omicron Delta Epsilon, and the Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity. In light of his outstanding work, Dr. Vielhaber was featured in Who's Who in the Midwest in 1994. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in developing a model that predicts crude oil and natural gas forward curves rather than just their prices. The model, which took him 10 years to create, will be published in The Energy Journal in February 2024. The cornerstone of his success lies with his wife, who has stood beside him throughout his academic career while raising three children, and his mentors, Dr. James Griffin and James Barr. In the coming years, Dr. Vielhaber intends to continue teaching and will remain open to taking on new responsibilities at the Ohio Dominican University.
