With more than four decades of excellence in electrical engineering, physical chemistry, software development and scientific instrument design, Dr. Bisson has earned distinction as a research scientist with the Cambridge Polymer Group. Since 2020, he has focused his efforts on developing innovative products for the company, having previously developed a non-linear interferometer for direct measurement of complex vibrational spectra, while working at Tufts University. Dr. Bisson has been a post-doctoral fellow at Tufts University and still contributes as a visiting scientist since 2013. He also contributes as a visiting scientist for the University of Massachusetts Lowell since 2006. Dr. Bisson's name appears on two US Patents and more than 20 scientific papers published in peer-reviewed journals.

Prior to his current role, Dr. Bisson worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College in 2014 studying the mechanical properties of polycrystalline ice under sub-glacial hydrostatic pressures. As a visiting scientist for the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in 2016, he helped develop another non-linear interferometer. He also lends his expertise to the American Association for the Advancement of Science having been a member since 2011. Dr. Bisson has been a member of the American Chemical Society since 2004. Among his professional accomplishments, he is particularly proud to have developed an instrument and its operating software, capable of making boules of nearly perfect single crystal ice; this instrument is still in use today.
