A seasoned professional engineer with years of experience in metallurgy, failure and material analysis, corrosion science, and more, Mr. Agbaje excels as the principal engineer and metallurgist for Firefly Aerospace. In this capacity, he maintains responsibility for planning and executing metallurgical testing and analysis projects, leads materials and process laboratory equipment acquisition, and serves as a subject matter expert in the areas of rocket design, testing, failure investigation, material selection, NCR, supplier quality, and more. Before obtaining his current role, Mr. Agbaje was a technical advisor specializing in materials engineering and supplier quality for Cummins Inc.

During the early stages of his career, Mr. Agbaje trained and supervised engineers and lab technologists as the metallurgy and group leader for Cummins. Similarly, he gained valuable expertise in the research aspect of the field as an assistant at New Mexico Tech. An expert in his field, he earned a Bachelor of Science in materials science and engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University. Subsequently, Mr. Agbaje received a Master of Science in materials engineering from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology and a Six Sigma Black Belt in addition to becoming a certified associate welding inspector.

Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Mr. Agbaje aligns himself with the National Association of Corrosion Engineers, the American Welding Society, the American Society for Metals, and the American Society for Quality. While his career has been filled with highlights, he takes the most pride in improving current and ongoing designs at Firefly Aerospace. Though hard work and education have brought him far in his career, he credits his success to his resilience and ability to learn from others. Looking ahead, Mr. Agbaje intends to take on senor leadership opportunity to expand his influence within the company and the industry.
