Hollie O'Keefe Recognized by Marquis Who's Who

Ms. O'Keefe serves as an outpatient therapist and founder of her own telehealth therapy business, Where You Are Counseling, where individuals of all ages, genders, and sexual orientation can find counseling support for a variety of emotional struggles. Today, her practice enables her to serve as both a case manager and therapist to her clients. Given her career experience and background, Ms. O'Keefe's furthermore specializes in assisting caretakers of loved ones living with dementia and Alzheimer's disease and helps them recognize the unexpected rewards that can develop through compassion and acceptance.

Over the span of her career, Ms. O'Keefe has provided direct care to a myriad of individuals in a variety of settings, such as hospitals, schools, and private residences. At the start of her professional journey, she served as a partial hospital group therapist at The ReDCo Group before joining the Devereux Foundation, a nonprofit behavioral health organization, to work at Devereux Children's Behavioral Health Center, Mapleton. There, she functioned as an inpatient mental health technician in the direct care setting and as the inpatient group therapist and children's therapeutic programming specialist, a position she held up until 2010.

Ms. O'Keefe's time with the Devereux Foundation continued, guiding her to serve at Martin Luther King High School and as an individual outpatient therapist for children ages five to 18 before joining Vital Decisions as a health care counselor for end-of-life support. In 2015, she returned to work through the foundation as a school-based lead clinician in the Coping and Support Training Program. Following the loss of a grant for her work at a public elementary school in Philadelphia, Ms. O'Keefe transitioned to work as a care manager for Beacon Health Options, now known as Carelon Behavioral Health. Although she gained valuable experience in that new line of work, she remained steadfast that her true calling was in direct care.

By 2018, Ms. O'Keefe had gained experience in and explored every position possible in her field. Finally, when she became aware of a training opportunity for online therapy, she decided to join and discovered an avenue that would allow her to pursue direct care freely. As a result of this alternative means, she left her corporate job and founded her own online therapy business. Despite the initial challenge of attracting clients due to the novelty of online therapy and the lack of insurance coverage, the circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic led to an uptick in clients that led to a blossoming of her business.

In reflecting on her strengths as a therapist, Ms. O'Keefe notes her ability to frequently reassesses her leadership style and make the necessary adjustments in order to response appropriately, a skill that helps her tailor her approach when working with different clients. Recently, she won the Best of 2023 Award and the 2024 Health 2.0 Up-and-Coming Award. Overall, Ms. O'Keefe derives satisfaction from being able to address her clients' challenges as they arrive, and she remains driven by her passion to provide personalized care and dedicated to her overarching goal of consistently proving herself to be a compassionate and effective therapist.

Driven by her belief that many individuals face inadequate availability of mental health care and treatment, Ms. O'Keefe remains committed to playing a role in addressing this issue by transforming the system to create a solution. In five years, she aims to create a nationwide online program, accessible to all, that offers both therapy and prescription services coupled with coordinated care. Ms. O'Keefe holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, a master's degree in counseling and clinical health psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and is the former president of Psi Chi, The International Honor Society in Psychology. Currently, she is pursuing a Master of Business Administration from the Quantic School of Business and Technology.
