Among many responsibilities, he managed the sales training budget, designed, organized, and conducted all primary and secondary sales training programs, and implemented new sales training modules and materials, contributing to year-over-year growth.
Heavily experienced in the gynecology surgical market, Mr. Houpe gained former success at Minerva Surgical Inc. as a Territory Manager based in Raleigh, North Carolina, from 2017 to 2022. He also rose from a Field Sales Trainer to a Sr. Field Sales Trainer between 2020 and 2022 and as a National Sales Training Manager from 2022 to 2023. The California-based company notably specializes in delivering a suite of devices to treat the root causes of abnormal uterine bleeding.
During his tenure, Mr. Houpe was notably responsible for revitalizing and launching a successful, comprehensive training program for the organization's territory managers, associate representatives, speakers, and key opinion leaders. He also launched Minerva ES, an endometrial ablation device, for which he independently generated sales of $1 million in less than three years while maintaining a competitive price point for the product.
Mr. Houpe was recruited from Entellus Medical Inc. (now Stryker Ltd.) as a Sales Representative II from 2016 to 2017. He was also a Regional Sales Representative for Conceptus Inc. (now Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals Inc.) between 2011 and 2016. Before entering sales in 2007, Mr. Houpe worked for Citigroup Inc. as a Retiree Accountant and Sr. Pension Payroll Analyst.
Civically invested, Mr. Houpe is a member of the New Hanover County Council of PTAs in North Carolina and the Porsche Club of America. He is also a member of Watch DOGS (Dads of Great Students) in Wilmington, North Carolina, where he was instrumental in establishing the nationally accredited program at Emma B. Trask Middle School in New Hanover County Schools, North Carolina, in 2016. He is preparing to introduce the program at his son's elementary school soon.
Mr. Houpe graduated from Winston-Salem State University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. In 2023, he became a certified Integrity Solutions Sales Training Facilitator.
In light of his accomplishments, Mr. Houpe was elected into the President's Club at Conceptus Inc. He was also elected into the President's Club and was recognized with a Million-Dollar Club Award at Minerva Surgical Inc.
