Hired in 2013 as the head of the gender secretariat, she rose to become a global manager of its gender business group from 2018 to 2020 and a global manager of its gender and economic inclusion group between 2020 and 2023. Ms. Kolb was also a United Nations (UN) representative for the Office of the Quartet Representative Tony Blair and, among other opportunities, a program manager for the UN.
Among other accomplishments, Ms. Kolb lived and worked in Northern Ireland, Scotland, UK, Palestine, Israel, the USA, and Tanzania. She was for example notably instrumental in mobilizing significant development partner funding for the Palestinian education sector and she grew the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women where she served as the CEO to deliver support to more than 70,000 women entrepreneurs in emerging markets.
Ms. Kolb co-authored many research reports during her career, for example working with Uber on: "Driving Toward Equality," a report which highlights gender specific impacts from ridesharing or working with Axa on "SheforShield," a report that reflects opportunities for companies to close the gender insurance gap.
Ms. Kolb has volunteered with Martha's Table since 2014, has been a foster parent with the Latin American Youth Center since 2017 and has been on the board of 2X Global, a membership organization that supports investors with gender-smart financing. She also serves as senior advisor to the Be that Girl Foundation.
Highly educated, Ms. Kolb received a Master of Arts in German literature and history from the University of Freiburg in Germany in 1998 and a Master of Science in development studies from SOAS University of London in 2001. Additionally, she completed a fellowship in women in public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School between 2017 and 2018.
