Since 2006, she has focused on connecting angel investors with early-stage entrepreneurs in need of investments, managing a group of angel investors through angel investor groups such as the VANTEC Angel Network and the Keiretsu Forum Northwest & Rockies Region-Vancouver. She specializes in helping entrepreneurs realize their aspirations, making a positive difference in their lives through investments and mentorships through the Phoenix Fire Fund and another angel investment fund (VANTEC Entrepreneurs Fund (VCC) Inc. dba eFund) that she founded in 2011 to invest in entrepreneurs in the province of British Columbia. Additionally, she lends her expertise as the board director of Montfort Capital Inc., a company that manages private credit for companies in North America, and is the Immediate Past Chair of the non-profit Learning Disabilities Association of Canada.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Lee was a senior partner with the strategy consulting firm Rocket Builders in 2001 after working with non-government agencies in Africa including the World Food Programme in Malawi where she led the refugee feeding operations and a UNDP-funded agency in Zimbabwe where she assisted women entrepreneurs in the region. Among her professional accomplishments, she was recognized by Women in Business and honored as one of British Columbia's Most Influential Women in Finance in investing in 2019.
Before embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Lee earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta in Canada. Following this achievement, she attained a Master of Business Administration from Ivey Business School at Western University. Within the coming years, Ms. Lee intends to continue assisting entrepreneurs in a board of advisory and mentoring capacity.
