    MEMPHIS, TN, March 19, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kiran S. Kamble, MBBS, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Kamble has established a distinguished career in global health, having worked across 20 countries for United Nations (UN) organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis (TB), and malaria (GFATM), as well as the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), including several US-based global health organizations. He has provided his expertise across a range of global health projects and programs, including communicable diseases (HIV, TB, and malaria), neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), non-communicable diseases (NCDs), maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH), as well as contributed to health sector reform, health policy analysis, and health systems strengthening initiatives. He has provided technical assistance to the Government of India (GoI) in its ambitious health sector reform initiative, the State Health Action Planning under its National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), leading the reform in three states in India with a population of 77 million. He also contributed to the analysis and revision of health policies for the Government of Abu Dhabi.

Prior to his global health focus, Dr. Kamble practiced as a primary care physician at his medical practice from 1992 to 2003 while also practicing as an occupational health consultant for various companies, including Kores, Bayer, HPCL, L&T, Siemens, and Phillips, between 2002 and 2003. He was also the proprietor and chief executive officer of ACME Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. from 1993 to 2003, a small-scale pharmaceutical company that he established in 1993.

Dr. Kamble's early career achievements include his significant contribution to tuberculosis (TB) control in partnership with the Government of India's Revised National TB Control Program (RNTCP). His efforts were recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Government of India in 2000 when he was felicitated for curing the second-highest number of TB patients in India, totaling 35 individuals, as a private practitioner.

Motivated to leave a legacy through education and policy influence beyond immediate healthcare interventions, Dr. Kamble looks forward to continued success studying health disparities, particularly in the U.S, while pursuing his Ph.D. in Health Systems and Policy. His work in global health has motivated him to identify the causes of such inequality and to explore ways to eliminate them. Moreover, in his doctoral research, Dr. Kamble aims to identify the determinants of these disparities and the influence of health financing on healthcare disparities, hoping to provide insights into potential policy initiatives, operational measures, and corrective actions that can be help reduce healthcare disparities.

In preparation for his career, Dr. Kamble's foundational medical knowledge includes receiving a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in clinical medicine from Grant Medical College at the University of Mumbai in 1992. He also achieved a Master of Public Health focusing on global health from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in 2010 and is currently completing a Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Memphis, planning to graduate in 2024. Adding to his professional prowess, Dr. Kamble has armed himself with knowledge and expertise in social determinants of health (SDoH), Artificial Intelligence in Health Care, and Microeconomics through online courses.

Dr. Kamble is a professional member of the Indian Medical Association, the Global Health Practitioners' Forum, and the Indian Occupational Health Association. Dr. Kamble also received an acknowledgment from the local Rotary International chapter in India for his public health service.

Dr. Kamble aims to continue his work in global health and continue his research to understand and reduce disparities in healthcare access and outcomes as well as teach to help create a strong cadre of public health professionals striving to generate evidence-based policies and programs.
