PLYMOUTH, MA, March 19, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Robert Meier with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Robert Meier celebrates many years' experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

While earning a Bachelor of Science in business education at Salem State College, Mr. Meier worked for the Barnstable Police Department in the summers of 1968, 1969 and 1970. He subsequently taught at Silver Lake Regional High School and was accepted into the Massachusetts State Police. Between 1971 and 1998, he gained valuable expertise in law enforcement, serving as a sergeant, shift commander, and patrol supervisor and in the Crime Prevention and Control Unit and the Major Crime Unit. Similarly, he expanded his professional knowledge by completing a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice through Ana Maria College. Backed by his considerable expertise in law enforcement, Mr. Meier worked as an insurance fraud investigator for Amica Mutual Insurance Company from 1998 until his retirement in 2010.

Outside of his work, Mr. Meier has served his community through the Sons of the American Revolution and the Former Massachusetts State Troopers Association. Likewise, he dedicated himself to the board and was acting deputy governor for the Massachusetts Society of Mayflower Descendants. In light of his devotion to law enforcement and public service, Mr. Meier received a letter of accommodation from the Massachusetts State Police Colonel for successfully investigating a murder suspect, a letter of thanks from State Senator Matthew J. Amorello for the capture of escapees from a juvenile detention facility, and recognition of his steadfast commitment to the Massachusetts State Police.

While his career has been filled with highlights, Mr. Meier takes the most pride in working on a homicide case as part of the Crime Prevention and Control Unit. After identifying the body of a 19-year-old girl from the high school ring on her finger, they discovered, through thorough investigation, that her manager had murdered her. Mr. Meier wrote a search warrant for the manager's parents' home and obtained the necessary evidence to lock him away. Another case that stands out was that of a fellow trooper's homicide; three people were involved in the homicide and were apprehended the next day. Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, Mr. Meier credits his success to his father and Uncle Fred, for instilling in him a work ethic, Arthur Ryall, an FBI agent, who also worked for Amica Mutual Insurance Company, Sergeant Joseph Doheny, Lieutenant Roderick Beaton, and Colonel James Canty. Looking forward, Mr. Meier intends to enjoy his well-deserved retirement.
