Dr. Salaka currently serves as the global director of IT and application delivery at SMTC Corporation in Melbourne, Florida, a role he has held since 2019. In this capacity, he plays a pivotal role in integrating and managing systems and data critical for outsourced electronic manufacturing services. His IT expertise is a game-changer, forging a direct line between business needs and real-world applications. By bridging the communication gap between teams, he translates complex ideas into functional requirements that fuel successful development and implementation. Before joining SMTC, Dr. Salaka was director of application delivery at Tsunami Tsolutions LLC in Melbourne (2014-2021). Dr. Salaka's career also included roles as co-founder of SimplyGranted in Melbourne, acting as the chief technology officer (2012-2019). He was also a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt Trainer at 28 Consulting in Melbourne (2012-2015), vice president of engineering at Live Music Tutor (2012-2014), and vice president of digital professional services for ATEX (2011-2012). Dr. Salaka's career features an impactful chapter in Japan. He served as vice president of information technology services at Wall Street Associates in Tokyo (2010-2012), a period marked by the 2011 Fukushima earthquake. This crisis demanded exceptional resilience and underscored the vital role of human-centric leadership. His experience culminated in the merger of his company with Japan's largest recruiting agency, a major career milestone. Prior to this, he held roles as chief technology officer at Ashley Associates in Tokyo (2007-2010) and director of information technology at Nova Corporation Japan in Osaka (2005-2007). Between 1997 and 2005, he provided consulting, training, and technology services to clients across local, national, and international levels. Beyond his tech expertise, Dr. Salaka demonstrates his passion by owning Kenpo Budokan Karate, a Florida-based online martial arts studio, since 1997.

Dr. Salaka's commitment to his community shines through his civic engagement. As an Eagle Scout himself, he gives back to the Boy Scouts of America as a committee chair for his son's troop. He also lends his technological expertise as the technical chairperson for the Florida Association of Nonprofit Organizations. He holds degrees across diverse fields, including an Associate of Applied Science in nursing informatics from the Orlando Medical Institute, a Bachelor of Science in mathematical sciences from Virginia Tech, and a Bachelor of Science in applied computer science from the University of Central Florida. Further, he earned a Master of Business Administration focused on international relations and information technology from Florida Metropolitan University and a Doctor of Philosophy in industrial/organizational psychology from Walden University. His thirst for knowledge extends to his post-doctoral research contributions in data science at the University of Michigan.
