Aside from her primary career goals as an author and book publisher, Rev. Dn. Ekstrom has served as a chaplain at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Oakland, California. Ekstrom formerly served as the parish deacon at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Berkeley, California, until 2016, and St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Berkeley, from 2002 to 2011.
