BERKELEY, CA, March 28, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rev. Dn. Ellen L. Ekstrom has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Rev. Dn. Ekstrom is a distinguished and award-winning writer and small business owner with profound expertise in medieval history and church history. Since 2013, she has been at the helm of Whyte Rose and Violet, Scribes, an imprint showcasing her dedication to literary arts and entrepreneurial spirit. Her depth of knowledge in historical subjects has informed her professional endeavors and enriched her literary creations. Additionally, Rev. Dn. Ekstrom has concurrently served as a legal secretary at local law firms since 1982, demonstrating her versatility and commitment to professional excellence.

Before establishing her business, Rev. Dn. Ekstrom was one of Central Avenue Publishing, LLC's first authors. Having faced various challenges in the publishing industry as a writer, she remained steadfast in her passion. Despite initial rejections due to market trends, Rev. Dn. Ekstrom persisted in writing stories that resonated with her and eventually found an audience that appreciated her unique voice. Her decision to independently publish through Whyte Rose and Violet, Scribes, was catalyzed by a desire for creative control and fair compensation for her work.

Rev. Dn. Ekstrom's literary achievements include several published works, such as "Tallis' Third Tune" in 2014, "Armor of Light" in 2014, and "Scarborough: Quinn's Story" in 2014, followed by "What She Wished For: A Cautionary Tale" in 2015, "The Legacy" in 2015, "St. Edmund Wood: A Cheshire Tale" in 2016 and "The Shop Girl of Flowergate" in 2017. Among these, "Tallis' Third Tune" is a notable accomplishment as a story inspired by personal reflection and a poignant moment from her past.

Aside from her primary career goals as an author and book publisher, Rev. Dn. Ekstrom has served as a chaplain at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Oakland, California. She finds this role very satisfying. Leveraging her expertise, Rev. Dn. Ekstrom formerly served as the parish deacon at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Berkeley, California, until 2016, and St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Berkeley, from 2002 to 2011. She now undertakes ministry in person and online as necessary.

Rev. Dn. Ekstrom attributes her success to her academic foundation. In 2002, she earned a Bachelor of Theological Studies with a concentration in Christian Mythos and a subspeciality in Christian Ethics from the Episcopal School for Deacons. This education has underpinned her serious approach to both her craft and historical studies. In addition to her degree, Rev. Dn. Ekstrom became an ordained deacon in the Episcopal Church in 2002.

Rev. Dn. Ekstrom's writing prowess has been recognized by Writers Digest Magazine and with a third-place win at the Romance Writers Oklahoma Digital Book Awards. Looking ahead, she aims to delve deeper into writing and pastoral care while exploring the role of women in the early church.
